October 30, 2024 Breakfast Meeting Notes
Tony opened with a special edition of NH Trivia, Penny Sale edition.
The 50/50 was won by Beth, who donated the money to Tom.
Mike won the chance to draw in the card game but sadly selected the 7 of clubs. The game continues.
Denise and Alex volunteered to be the additional auctioneers (in addition to Sharon) at the Penny Sale.. Alicia will be in the money room. Omer will be our ticket writer. Lora will draw the numbers. Beth will hand out gifts to runners. Food concessions are set, as is the DJ. The after party will be at 61 Main across from Grotto!
Grand prize ticket sales for members: Bill noted that not everyone has turned in their money; members have until Saturday to do so. We are at $1700 for street sales which is $300 more than last year (but we only have 1 time slot set up for sales this weekend). If you have time to sell more tickets, you could do so on Friday and Saturday. The Give Butter site will be closed off for online sales after 1 pm on Saturday. Mike offered congratulations for the skillfully hung banners.
Saturday setup: On Saturday, members should arrive at 2 pm with all prizes “to bring” so that they can be matched with the right color and sheet. If you have any donor notes or new information (such as names, addresses, or new contacts), please give your notes to Sharon Lots of people will show up early, so we will need people to watch the items on display to make sure that no one misplaces them. If you finish early, go to the money room to fold tickets. Tony will pick up our tumblers at Rand’s this morning. He needs to make sure that the tumblers are working, as they are old and somewhat battered. Mike will look into purchasing a new one before Saturday. The Master of Ceremonies should also encourage people to like and follow our Facebook page.
We will be having an after-hours event from 5-6:30 on November 15 at 61 Main. Alicia will print up tickets to hand out at the Penny sale to promote this event. Erica has a paper cutter that Alicia can use to cut tickets. We should provide food for guests that day.
Will did an ad for Facebook and we have reached our 2000 people with it. Alicia created a short video demonstrating what the Penny Sale is.
Hometown Holiday Celebration: One of the churches reached out about doing a cookie walk at the senior center. There is already a cookie walk scheduled for that day to benefit the Bridge House. Denise will call the church to see if they want to join in. If anyone wants to help plan and design the float, see Alicia (the work will be done at Phil’s house). Sharon will manage the web site after the Penny Sale to promote the Hometown Holiday Celebration. She will need information from Steve on registering people for the parade and getting it set up.
Nov 9 will be trail work at Texas Hill. See Greg for more information.
Decorating the Common will be done on Nov 30th; there will be further planning for this post-Penny Sale.
Local student Shelby McDonald, who spoke to us earlier this year, went away on a Rotary exchange and is back now. Her host sister will be here in December and can come speak to us. Mike will figure out a date.
Next week Marybeth is supposed to host the meeting; Denise will text her as a reminder.
A happy dollar was shared by Denise, who noted that the Rotary Leadership was amazing! She also noted that the District covers the first 2 people to register from a club. Beth shared that she is looking for a development manager for Circle. Tony announced the Knights of Columbus spaghetti dinner and auction Saturday the 16th after the 4 pm mass at St Matthews.
Respectfully submitted,
Lora Miller, secretary
