Meeting notes July 7, 2021

17 member and guests joined us at the Common Man Inn for breakfast and 2 joined via Zoom.  Guests attending were, Maribeth Bentwood and her sister Jenny, and Alex’s guest Scott and Ken’s speaker, Frank Cocchiarella of the Central NH Chamber of Commerce.
50/50 raffle and the card game raffle have begun again.

Denise started the meeting with a quote: I hope that in this year to come, you make mistakes. Because if you are making mistakes, then you are making new things, trying new things, learning, living, pushing yourself, changing yourself, changing your world. You're doing things you've never done before, and more importantly, you're doing something.

Tony challenged us with his trivia again.

Speaker: Frank Cocchiarella of the Central NH Chamber let us know that this year’s theme is the three C’s. Celebrate, Collaborate and Communicate.

Celebrating for example is the Chamber helping the Polar Caves with their 100th year anniversary and assist in promoting this occasion.
Collaboration between Chambers of Commerce is needed, and was needed especially in 2020. Also has collaborated with the Enterprise Center, and other organizations in the area.  They are excited that Business After Hours will start again when a member business hosts  and will be on the 3rd Tuesday of every month.
Communicate with current members, especially ones who use Social Media and want their board of directors to have younger members to take advantage of their networking skills using social media.

The Chamber wants to be a fun organization where members can network and build friendships. This is most important since 2020 membership was down.  They want members to enjoy being part of the chamber and plans are in the works for more fun events.  Membership is down but due to streamlining expenses they are in the black and doing well.

50/50 raffle winner was Denise and she donated the $6 back to the club and Frank Cocchiarella was lucky to pull from the deck to find the 6 of Diamonds, but pulled the Queen of Diamonds instead.  Next week the pot grows to about $153 to split with the Club.  Good luck everyone!
