Today’s speaker was our very own Tony Fitzherbert, a former railroad worker and lifetime enthusiast.  Tony shared pictures of unique urban railroads, which are mostly subways.  He shared stories, history and pictures of the subway of Glasgow Scotland, Wargate Commuter line in London, Baker St Station, Mordon Branch in London, the Paris Metro and New York Subway, Tony’s former employer.

He explained how local railroad clubs will charter trains, subways, particularly when a line is being sunsetted and the clubs want to take one last run.  In another interesting train was the only privately owned railroad by  the Lehman Brother’s store in Ft Worth and transported people between stores for less than a mile and used Trolley cars.
