Thank you to all who attended our meeting on Wednesday morning! What a great turnout of support for round 2 of the speech contest. Taylor Maine was crowned the winner and will move on to Round 3 at the district conference in May. CONGRATULATIONS, Taylor!!
 
**Don’t forget the Rabies Clinic will be held tomorrow, 3/14/20, at the Plymouth PD from 1pm-2pm. Please arrive at 12:30pm to help set up. We are still in need of 5 chairs and a few tables.
**The Board meeting will be held on 3/19 @ 7am at Noyes Ins.
 
Taylor and Kai both received $100 for being the Round 1 winners in their respective Clubs.
 
Club President Paul Brochu congratulates Taylor Maine as she moves forward to Round 2 in the Annual Speech Contest which will be held on Wednesday, March 11th.

It was great to see everyone at our meeting yesterday morning! We had a great turn out of Rotarians for Round 1 of the speech contest! Taylor Maine, once again, delivered a fantastic speech revolving around the topic "How Does Rotary Connect to My World". In other news:
  • Thursday 2/20~ Board meeting @ 7am at Noyes Insurance
  • Saturday 2/22~ Christmas decorations need to be taken down in the Plymouth Common. A sign-up sheet was passed around but more hands will make it go quicker. We are in need of tall ladders.
  • Saturday 3/14~ Rabies Clinic @ the Plymouth PD 1pm-2pm. Please arrive by 12:30pm to help set up.
  • Tuesday 3/17~ At 5pm there is a Rotary get together at the Dam Brewhouse in Campton. Bring your friends and potential Rotarians.
  • Friday 3/20~ Campton 8th graders are having an auction and spaghetti dinner to benefit the 8th grade class trip. The event will be held at Campton Elem school @ 5pm.
  • We are still in need of  district grant ideas. Please see Cheryl.
Whole Village Director, Susan Amburg (left), and Molly Timmins, AmeriCorps Vista member who oversees the Economic Mobility Project at Whole Village were thanked by President Paul Brochu for joining us this morning and sharing the scope of services provided by Whole Village Family Resource Center which is located at 258 Highland Street in Plymouth.  From the level of interaction with Club Members, there was a lot of interest in their work with individuals and families in our area.  To see their entire presentation, please go to our Facebook Page.  (https://www.facebook.com/plymouthnhrotaryclub/videos/186395072604605/)
 
Paul also reminded Board Members that the next meeting is Thursday morning, Feb. 20th at 7 am.
 
Tony announced that we will be having a Rotary After Hours event on St. Patrick's Day, March 17th at The Dam Brewhouse in Campton beginning at 5 pm.  He's also working on a location for dinner following the event for those available.
 
Next week is the first round of our Annual Speech Contest.  Mike asked for volunteers to act as Judges and the Timer.  Ben stepped up to be the Timer, and Sharon also as one of our Judges.  (I just need four more Judges!)  Please plan to be with us and support our speechmakers!
 
 
 
What a full and busy meeting we had today!  It was so nice to welcome so many guests!
 
  • Thank you to the Hometown Holiday Parade committee for attending our meeting but more importantly, all the work you put in to make the holiday celebration a huge success year after year!
  • What an honor it was to donate the $2000 proceeds of the HHP to the Pemi Youth Center! Thank you to the PYC crew for joining us, as well.
  • Sharon presented the club a $500 donation from the Allstate Foundation. Thank you, Sharon, for all of your hard work and hours of dedication to the club!
  • Bill Clark recently met with the area elementary schools to discuss the creation of an Earlyact club. It looks like it is off the ground!! Great job, Bill, for getting this started.
  • Please start thinking of potential candidates for Citizen of the Year. Changing of the Guards will be here before we know it.
  • Jerry Larson, CASA project manager, came to speak with us about the CASA of NH program. Please check out www.CASANH.org for more information

2020-21 presidential theme announced
Rotary International President-elect Holger Knaack revealed the 2020-21 presidential theme, Rotary Opens Opportunities, to incoming district governors at the International Assembly in San Diego, California, USA, on 20 January. Knaack, a member of the Rotary Club of Herzogtum Lauenburg-Mölln, Germany, is encouraging Rotarians to seize the many opportunities Rotary offers to enrich their lives and the communities they serve.

It was good to see everyone this morning at the meeting. I thoroughly enjoyed being the Sgt at Arms as it gave me the opportunity to say hello to you all!

  • Keep the Heat On event is TONIGHT!  It is a SOLD OUT event so hopefully you have your tickets already.
  • Congratulations and Welcome to Francesca! Although she has been coming to several meetings already, she was officially inducted today. If you haven’t had a conversation with her yet, say HI! We are lucky to have her on our Plymouth Rotary Team!
