Here are Abbey's minutes of the meeting.
  • Firstly, we welcomed all of our visitors to our meeting today!
  • Friday December 6th – there is caroling beginning @ the Pemi Youth Center
    • Be there at 4:30 if you would like to participate
  • Saturday December 7th is the Parade
    • If anyone knows a replacement Santa please let us know!
  • Saturday December 14th  delivering baskets of food
    • We need drivers beginning @ 8am
  • We are excited to welcome Sal Ippolito as the newest member to our club!
  • Paul presented Kathy with a check for The Circle Program.
  • We also cast ballets for officers and board members today
  • The Interact Club gave us an update on all there activities and plans for the year.
  • Denise announced the Bridge House Cookie Walk is this Saturday December 7th
    • 11-2:30 @ the senior center
    • We need buyers & bakers
    • The funds raised will support our veterans!
  • We are also wishing Homer a speedy recovery
Ms. Mariam Raqib, Director of Samsortya, a non-profit which works in Afghanistan to build sustainability, was the guest of Gale Adams-Davis and spoke with us about the work of her organization.  To see her entire presentation, please go to our Facebook Page.  (

  • Board Meeting 11/21 at 7am
    • Agenda will be out soon
  • There is an Interact meeting today
    • Interact members will be here 12/04 to discuss bracelets
    • Bring 7$ if you would like one
  • Holiday decorations 11/23 at 9am on the common in Plymouth
    • Confirming with Jess to see if there is student interest
    • Please bring wire cutters if you have some!
  • Holiday Parade is all set
    • Rotary will participate 12/7 3:30-4pm – sign ups soon!
  • Scholarship winners: We will try and correspond with them ASAP to get them here to discuss
  • We were #1 in the District for giving in 2018, and won 4 awards total at the District Training Event
  • Gale introduced our guest speaker, Mariam
    • She runs a non-profit organization to support Afghanistan on their quest for sustainability

  • Tony thanked everyone for donating and attending the Knights of Columbus Auction
    • They earned 1200$ more than they ever have
  • Gale was recognized for having a great Veterans Day Assembly
At the District Training Event this past Saturday, our Club was recognized for our contributions to The Rotary Foundation this past year.
Bob Gannett, Plymouth Area Community Closet Board Member, brought us up to date on their various assistance programs and the upcoming Holiday Food Basket distribution on December 14th.  To watch his fill presentation, please go to our Facebook Page.  (
Here are the meeting minutes:
  • The Interact got their picture in the newspaper while doing trail maintenance at Rainbow Falls
  • Interact also raised over 1800$ on the road race last weekend!
  • Interact is meeting today at 2:30 at the high school – join if you’d like
  • November 16th – District Training, if anyone wants to go they must register
  • November 21st – Meeting for board members
  • Holiday decorations November 23rd – get help with wreaths
  • Holiday Parade December 7th
  • Tony introduced Bob from the local food pantry:
    • Plymouth Area Community Closet
    • They provide for many different needs across our community and 14 neighboring towns
    • Big Event: Food baskets
    • December 13th – preparing the baskets, December 14th – delivering the baskets
    • Looking for possible donations from Rotary to feed over 300 families!
  • Tony announced Knights of Columbus are holding their auction & dinner this Saturday @ 5pm

  • Peggy wanted to recognize Steve for all of his hard work on the Penny Sale, thank you Steve!!!

We had a few votes this morning to note...
** Bill made a motion to get the 2 custodial staff at the high school gift certificates in appreciation for all their hard work at the Penny Sale this weekend. *APPROVED*  Paul will put this together.
** Sharon made a motion to accept the changes to the by-laws. *APPROVED*

  • Firstly, the Penny Sale went awesome! Thank you everyone
    • Final cash count coming soon
    • Shout out to Moe and Taylor for being the sales champions of the night
    • We are going to get gifts for the two custodial men who helped us all night with smiles on their faces!
  • We passed new by laws
  • 11/09 – Interact Club is hosting a run for veterans
    • Hoping to get two volunteers there by 8am – contact Bill if interested
  • Interact Club President, Taylor Maine, will be at our meeting 12/04 to sell their bracelets for student in South Africa – 7$ per band. Bring your money!
  • 02/12 – Speech Contest for high school students
    • Still need a coordinator – talk to Mike if interested
  • Need people to step up for the vice president position – ask questions if interested!
  • Kathy introduced Donna:
    • Discussed her job at Record Enterprise
    • She loves to focus on community – knowing your neighbor & positive community stories
    • Thank you Donna & Kathy!
  • 11/16 – The Knights of Columbus are holding a spaghetti dinner and auction
    • Proceeds from this event will be going to charities
  • Discussed putting wreaths up – maybe there’s an earlier date to do it – collaborating with high school Interact or PSU
  • Congrats Alex on the opening on the new store!
Special Notice:  The District Training event is Saturday, Nov. 16th at Northern Vermont University- Lyndon.  A carpool is being put together.  Register ASAP!

The Penny Sale is this weekend! Some notable times:
  • Ben is looking for 8 people to set up at 3pm on Saturday.
  • If you have prizes that are not already accounted for, bring them at 4pm
  • The remaining groups/volunteers arrived between 5:30 & 6pm
  • Denise has volunteered to help in the Money Room. THANK YOU, Denise!!
  • Sunday 11/3~ Rotarians will be meeting at the Common Man @ 9am to go pick up the Penny Sale signs around town
**President Paul reminded us that our annual meeting is scheduled for December 4th to select the new board for next term. Please consider stepping up into one of these spots
**The Speech Contest is right around the corner. We are in need of a speech contest organizer. See Mike or Paul, if interested.
**Waterville Valley Elem School is honoring veteran’s on 11/8 @ 8am at the school. If you are a veteran or would like to attend with a veteran, send names to Gale.
**Susan brought a fantastic guest this morning! Ian MacLeod from Squam Lakes Science Center brought his owl friend to share the latest news and updates from the science center. Definitely log into Facebook and watch the recorded version of the meeting
Also, Alex announced a fundraiser for Honduras Hope! this coming Friday, November 1st at Walter's Basin.  You're invited!  Good Food, Lively Conversation, Raffles, 50/50 fun, Music and More...
Sharon drafted Kathy as her partner in pointing out that all of us should wear our Name Badges on Wednesdays to make sure our guests and newcomers know who we are.  She collected a buck from everyone not wearing their badge.  If you need a badge, please let Ken know so he can place another group order.
