President Ken opened the meeting by sharing with us the importance of storytelling as a way of shaping who we are and instilling moral values. He challenged us to come up with our won personal story about Rotary and why it is important in our lives. "It's a story to share with family. A story to share with Friends and neighbors. And, a story to share with everyone you meet." Ken would like for one or two of us to begin telling our "stories" at our next meeting on July 5th, and we'll continue throughout the year. "It doesn't have to be long or flowery or polished, just personal!" Who knows, Ken just might call on you!Kathy and John Bentwood were with us to give us an update on what's happening with the Bridge House. They are opening one unit for hospice care and are planning to add four units for Vets. Alex joined in as they asked for our help with this year's Fun Fair to be held on Saturday, July 15th at the Smiht Bridge field. Volunteers to help with games and food are needed between 11:30am and 4:30pm....perhaps working in shifts. A sign up list went around the room. The Circle Program is holding a series of Open Houses beginning with a tour at 11:15am and concluding with lunch at 12:30pm on the following dates: July 7,11,25 and 31. Please RSVP to the Office at 536-4244. If these dates/times don't work for you, give Kathy a call and she can arrange a visit. Ken read a "Thank You" from one of our Scholarship recipients, Chad Merrill, and this note: Dear Friends, I don't know how to thank you for tis incredible honor. You have welcomed and allowed me to participate in so many Rotarian events and that alone is a great privilege. Perhaps the greatest gift you have shared is your unconditional friendship. With respect and gratitude, Denise Castonguay Moe, Bill and Ken then inducted Lisa Doner into membership. Welcome, Lisa!!!
