February 11, 2026 Breakfast Meeting Notes
Today we held the first round of the speech contest. Welcome to our students! Speeches must be at least 4 minutes long and must be less than 6 minutes. Mike Carrier will provide time cards to notify the students of the elapsed time. Next week we will host Lincoln/Woodstock for round two. On Saturday, April 18, round three will be held in Lyndonville. The final round will be on Saturday June 13 at the District Conference in Orford, QC.
Five students spoke on this year’s topic: How can we be instruments of peace? The participants found creative ways to address the topic and make it relevant to their own lives.
At the end, Denise thanked the judges and students for participating, as well as Marybeth who coordinated the event. The scores were very close! Our second place runner up is student #4 and 1st place is student #1.
We still have 3 slots left for RYLA. The students can help spread the word. Note that we have had lots of great girls over the years but it would be nice if we could get some boys to participate!
Tony presented NH Trivia, Cleaning out the litter box edition.
We did not do the card game today. For the 50/50, the drawing was repeated until one of the students won.
Phil, Mike, Tony, and Sharon shared happy dollars. .
There are a few folks who still owe the club for Super Bowl squares and dues. Winners of Super Bowl squares were Mike Son, Alex, Raisa, and the father of Mike Doyle of Flippin’ Furniture. Congratulations to all!
Respectfully submitted,
