Bill - Paving on Reservoir Rd, Granese is moving out and new company coming in. 

Tony -asked if anyone knows about the new book store. They have a book club, and hold a night with authors to meet with readers. 

Sally, did you know Rik Yeames is a new Rotarian in Concord. Also owns two Dominoes.   Sally is a NASA solar systems ambassador.   He is an eclipse chaser, next week there is on in Iceland/Portugal/Spain, but on 1:53pm Wed. August 12^th, if clear may see some of it here in NH.  You may see the moon cutting into sun about 17% and USE solar glasses.  He is also considering starting in Rotary Astronomy Fellowship.  He presents at his Club on Tuesday, September 1st at Noon, you are all welcome to attend.

Denise: Last night was National Night Out. Alicia held a special game where kids could throw bean bags through the holes in the Rotary wheels for prizes.

 

Ben awarded Tony his Past President’s award.

 

Denise Cruise night is 8/26 and raindate 8/27. Need someone with truck to pickup tables, chairs and popcorn machine.

Ben – District Governor Ariel, coming with milkweed seeds to plant. May be at Oxbow or town forest in Holderness. More to come. 

Ken – after next meeting going to Speare to award the check for courage kits designed by Sidney Whitehouse. Please go with Ken if you can.

Cady Communities for Alcohol and Drug – free youth.

 

Clarissa has been with Cady for about 15 years as adolescent specialists and the restorative justice program. She has taken over after Deb Naro Retired.

During her career she has used animal/pet therapy with kids.  About a 1 ½ years ago Deb asked her to take over CADY. Clarissa is part time at CADY and teaches at PSU as well.  She brings in PSU students to help and intern at CADY, work with local funders, in-kind donations throughout the community and build coalitions throughout the area.

 

This year they introduced a new program: 3-day middle school camp geared toward leadership and social skills. Had 30 students attend.  A couple of the programs are One Trusted Adult and Thriving in Middle School. The camp held at Holderness Middle School, as they were trying to keep it local. The Common Man donated ice cream as part of the in-kind donations.

 

Also she meets with healthcare professional for training opportunities and sharing ideas and programs. Held once every two months.

 

They do accept State and Federal money and must distribute information for emergency preparedness and distribute Narcan, fentanyl test strips to test medication so no interaction. Also distribute safety lock boxes for peoples’ medications. etc. 

 

They attended National Night Out, and hold a Townwide Yard sale in September.   9/5/26 hosting an event on the Plymouth Common for all community. Days of caring and service United Way and many more programs.
