February 19, 2025 Breakfast Meeting Notes

We began with Tony’s NH Trivia, “This Little Town we Live in” edition.

The 50/50 was won by Tony.

Alicia won the chance to draw for the ace of spades but it proved elusive. There are only 15 cards left.

Next week will be a club forum. We will be voting for officers next week (including Erica LaBella as VP).

Our speaker today was Erica. She spoke about what’s going on in her life. Erica is a woman of many hats, in her words. She worked at the Dam Brew House for a while; she worked at Kocajo, in Maine; and she is on the NH Marathon Committee. She has spent time working at Nature’s Classroom. She also advocates for Freestyle America, a trampoline camp, and has spent time in Arizona and Honduras.

Her grandparents were very important to them, an she credits them with her joy at volunteering. She was born in Lowell on June 3, 1979, and grew up in Tewksbury. She attended St Anselm College  where she majored in French. Erica taught at Lowell Catholic HS, but always wanted to be out in the woods. During and after college, she would go rock climbing in Rumney every weekend with her friends.

Erica moved to Woodsville in her 20s and got a dog. She loved rock climbing and running there but those were not big activities in the area (there were more hunters in that area). Then she got a job at Waterville Academy as a dorm parent, and she taught French and Spanish there. Then she took on a summer cooking job at Mountain Fair Inn and eventually became the part-time manager of the inn. A couple of years ago Steve and Tony convinced her to join Rotary.

Today Erica brought in a number of her things and we were asked to choose an item that we could relate to and then talk to the group about it. After we had given our impressions of the object, aha gave us hers.

Finally we played a few fun team-building games from Nature’s Classroom.,

Happy dollars were shared by Mike and Denise.

Mike announced that the local VFW post is having an ammo raffle. Cost is $20 per ticket and only 100 tickets will be sold.

Respectfully submitted,

Lora Miller, secretary
